 Nothing was more agitating then getting the dreaded phone call from John, informing me that our very old Ford Escape finally kicked the bucket. We were definitely hoping to get another year out of it and having to buy another car on the whim was beyond stressful. I am the type of person that always has to have a plan and budget, being thrown a financial curve ball like this was really hard to swallow. We researched all night various used car dealerships. We had specific needs for what we wanted in a new vehicle but the most important thing we were searching for was a dealership we could trust. After what seemed like hours of research, we decided to go to AutoPark Barrie, the next evening after work. We walked onto the lot and surprisingly we were not bombarded by a salesperson immediately, which was a huge relief. Last time we purchased a car, the salesperson would not let us out of their sight, even when we asked for a minute alone to discuss our options. After a couple minutes, Karl came walking over to introduce himself. He was friendly with a calm demeanor. He asked us what we were looking for in a used vehicle, what our price range was and what was most important to us (for us it was either 4x4 or all wheel drive). He definitely understood why that was so important because he is also a resident of Simcoe County. He then let us take a look around the lot on our own and said he would join us shortly. When returning, we went through the handful of vehicles we were interested in and Karl gave us his honest opinion on each vehicle and how they fit our specific needs. Not very long after, we found a new Ford Escape to take the place of the old one. However, unlike our old Escape, this one was only couple years old and had very low kilometers. Once we came to our decision, Karl was kind enough to put a hold on the vehicle, until we could come in and give it a test drive. After signing on the dotted lines, the Escape was ours and we were able to pick it up a few days later, once it was carefully detailed. What made this experience unlike any other? We had a salesperson we could trust for their honesty. He was not pushy and he understood what our interests and needs were and didn’t try to veer us in a direction that would place a financial burden on us. He made sure to follow up with us, even after we drove the car off the lot. AutoPark Barrie even has a seven day exchange policy. Karl ensured that we were not only happy but sure of our decision. As most of our followers on Instagram know, John got in a car accident a few days ago and it has been a very tiring, stressful and frightening experience. I remember when John called me, the first thing he said was he got in a car accident and second was that the new SUV might be a write off due to the extensive damage from our vehicle being rear ended. Yesterday, we received another follow up call from Karl because he had ordered us another key for the SUV. When he heard about the accident he was so sympathetic and told us that if it is a write off, he’ll help us sort things out (we bought extended insurance on the vehicle). John and I knew we were in good hands when we first spoke to Karl but this just reinforced that. He actually cared about our wellbeing and was prepared to go above and beyond (again) to make this be another stress free experience. Over all, we would definitely recommend AutoPark Barrie and would suggest that you request Karl for your car shopping needs. He is not only a great salesperson but a wonderful individual.
